We’re a Big Family

Hello All,

‘The Pact’s’ shooting, cast and crew alike, is still operating within the very Medieval walls of Jim’s Tap. It has been very arduous work, but the outcome will be very rewarding. Interestingly though, we are all staying fairly calm, cool, and collected. We’ve had a few stumbles, but not really any fumbles. And certainly, still operating within a system of Football metaphors, we haven’t let the opposing team score any touchdowns on us. We continue to excel, excellently, forward, and we’ve gained new friends/family by developing relationships with our much thanked extras. Thank you to all for staying positive, speaking your mind(s), and, overall, accomplishing what needs to be done. Instead of hoping better things will come in the future, or being regretful of the past, live within this here/now moment. Realize that all the good happening now will produce what you hope for tomorrow. Realize that, “Hey, we’re making a frickin’ movie!”.

Much Peace and Love,

Arlo “Dude-Man” Tobin.

Patience

Hello All,

I know I didn’t post pictures like I promised. Pardon. However, today is a new day, and we have pictures!!! Yay. We have been shooting in Jim’s Tap for the past day-and-a-half and it has been one hell of an unforgettable experience. As consistent as always, this cast/crew is getting this movie-project done. We’re all getting closer and closer, relationship-wise, as this movie shoot continues to rocket forward. I think everyone is realizing, and consequently excited, that we are actually making a movie. It’s pretty neat. Well, that about wraps it up for my blog today. Pardon the lack of breadth, and depth, but my allergies have been clogging my brain functions. I wish you all the greatest day(s) imaginable.

Much Peace and Love,

Arlo “Clogged Brain” Tobin

We’re Off to the Bar!

Hello All,

This morning opened with a Bang! (The “Bang” being Thunder). As the clouds opened up, I, along with my roomie/fellow crew-member Braxton, realized that we were definitely going to be late to the set. If mother nature’s intention was to be my alarm clock, then my pillow’s intention was to be my ‘Snooze Button’. I was thoroughly pooped. However, we finally did make it to set, and have been diligently setting up the bar for all the scenes being shot today. We are all getting used to Jim’s as a viable shooting venue, and we are all doing our very best to decrease the amount of time needed for acclamation. It is this writer’s opinion that we, the cast/crew, are increasing our co-operative aptitude, and can handle anything thrown at us. I will do well to write more in awhile.

Much Peace and Love,

Arlo “a Thorough-Bred-Jim’s-Tap-Regular” Tobin…

“Busy Day”

Hello to all you ‘Pact’ Fans out there,

I have officially moved out from beyond the barriers of my LoftCave “Situation” and into, if I may, the real world. Quite an ‘Allegory of the Cave’ type of experience. Well, not quite, but i hope you pick up what I’m laying down. I swear I’ll stop with the Platonic references someday. In any case, enough of my blathering. We starting our bright-eyed-and-bushy-taled morning at First Bank and Trust right here in, you guessed it ya’ll, Brookings, SD. It was the perfect setting for more extraordinarily bodacious shots of ‘The Pact’. I, along with my good friend Braxton (who has been so monikered “Braxiosaurus” by none other than Aaron “Ancel” Toronto), were indeed late to set. But, needless to say, after a heavy dosage of coffee, water, and wheaties “breakfast of champions”, although not in a Vonnegut sense (for him it’s Martinis),  I was ready to rock-n-roll my way to digital heaven. I did, in fact, pick some new stills for ya’ll to look at. They are great. Our cast looks very pretty, with thanks to Hannah and Grace, and the cinematography is, as always, gorgeous. We’ve all had another great day of shooting.

On a fun, somewhat ‘racier’ sidenote; Jay and I were sent to HyVee to procure some colorful, and scene enriching, prophylactics. Don’t read too much into this, but it was quite the adventure. We also picked up some flavored carbonated water, which is a favorite of this strange writer, on our all-around ‘good clean fun’ trip. Thank you all, or ya’ll, for reading. Stay in touch, and I’ll see you in the a.m.

P.S. If you see a Cast/Crew member, give them a hug because we’ve all been giving it our all.

Peace and Love,

Arlo “The Dude who has finally been extricated from his LoftCave “Situation” and launched into the ‘Real World’…” Tobin

“No Guitars Were Harmed In The Making Of This Film”

Just to clarify this disclaimer, for the sake of Ancel and his rockin’ Dean Acoustic; we, the cast/crew of ‘The Pact’, doth hereby swear to not scratch, crack, mutilate, destroy, or raucously ‘shimmy-shake’ any of the sets guitars to death. We, or, more succinctly, Ancel, will probably push these instruments to the brink of imploding then exploding, much like a supernova, due to awesome-fantazzlement. However, he has sworn to restrain the last bits of his might so as to keep the guitars structurally ‘in tact’. That is all. Oh, this message was brought to you under the gentleman-like suggestion of Douglas Lee our amazing Director of Photography.

That is all,

Dude in LoftCave “Situation”

“Earlier Morning Call-Time”

Swell day to you,

It has been quite a lengthy day already. But, guess what, there is much more to do! After settling into the set this morning, at a startlingly potent “early call time” of 6:30 a.m., the cast/crew have, of course, chiseled further into ‘The Pact’s’ script. Oh, and it was done without too many drowsy grumblings. Along with accomplishing much, Matt Toronto, our fearless director, has thrown in some daffy off-hand Ace Ventura “Dolphin-Trainer” impersonations. This is only one example, among many, of the positivity being created by all of our elated co-workers. We all have our work cut out for us, but we’re all doing well to respect, teach, and learn from, each other. Thanks to all for everything you’ve done, and everything you will continue to do. I’m going to scratch deep into my noggin’ to find some Platonic wisdom for you all to chew on. While you’re pondering this and, hopefully, many other things, take some time to look at all the groovy photos I’ve continued to extract from the raw footage. Do well, and keep in touch.

Peace and Love,

The Dude in the Little LoftCave ‘Situation’.

“Grew Up On Nothing Just Like Everybody Else.”

Dear Everyone,

It has been quite a day in this writer’s ‘Loft Lair’. Hopefully my hermetic tendencies haven’t put anyone off, or creeped anyone out. There are some exciting developments with the ‘tech’ side of this production. I’ve used my day to browse through the raw footage with a lice-comb so as to extract still shots to upload onto the web. I would say that the results, due to the amazing diligence of our cast/crew, are breathtaking. By the looks of some of these stills, our production looks like a million bucks. From this writer’s perspective, everyones dispositions seem to be very positive. These stills should give everyone a glimpse of how successful our project is progressing. And, our impetus certainly seems to imply that the overall outcome will be a “friggin’ smash-hit”. Peace and Love to all. Oh, spread the word my friends.

Day 4 of ‘The Pact’ shooting…

“You know I’m talking ’bout a montage!” This morning, on the set, the cast/crew has been shooting The Pact’s montage scene. The big scene of the day, at least for yours truly, is the WoW (World of Warcraft) scene. Grant Fox, one of the two brotherly heroes of this film, is quite the Warcrafter, so I’m intrigued to see if this game is as great as Grant says it is. More later… of course. Peace and love to all of ya’ll.

Day 3 of Shooting… There’s a ‘Candid Camera’ Creeping
